Hello, Pockers! And welcome to year number three of Ani-Pock!

I am pleased as pie to be a member of this unique and ever-changing community we call A-P!
A lot has happened in three years...
Why, Just this year, we saw the return of a lot of old members, the launch of new forums, three new blogs, a book talk, new A-P merchandise, and even a female version of Pocky!

While this has been a new and exciting year, we should take the time quickly and remember the people in the anime and Ani-Pock community who are no longer with us-

This year an overwhelming majority of you chose your favorite post as what would forever be an A-P classic! Your choice for Ani-Pock Post of the Year is:

2007 Was a year of great anime. This year delivered a lot of great new anime. Classics like Robotech and Gundam got new features, old favorites like Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni returned for another season, School Days had some NICE BOATS!, and autumn delivered a bevy of moe series!! Your choice for your Released Anime of 2007 is:

Leading up to the anniversary, we held a Name the Character Game. We didn't get a heckuva lot of response, but we did get a winner. And the winner of the Name the Character title is:

And finally, this year I picked someone who went above and beyond in supporting the site, aside from Pocky, of course. Our first winner for Pocker of the Year goes to:

Since I revived Rin's wonderful Reveal Game again, he will advertise the week's contestant in the blog, every week, every contestant, without even being asked! He also looks through Mainichi News every day and pick out good articles for the site on the chat, even if no one is around to see them. He is a judicious mod, and an all around good guy. Here's one from Zaku. Same old game. Get to it!

1) This Character switches his alignment a few times through out both of the Seed series, this character is quite easy. Bonus: List his suits / mobile weapons used in both series.
2) This anime has been used in various AMVs made by a famous Pocker. Name the Pocker, and the anime in which this question is about.

Welcome back to another round and Kip's double round A-PNTC! excellence.

1. His name rhymes with Nick Bunter. He's a pretty awesome pilot.
2. This character is the ever suffering charter member of a club founded by a god looking to find and solve mysteries.

1. The commander in charge of the Zentradi fleet. He can survive in the vaccuum of space, unlike much of his race,

Anniversary Awards Night, and Other Stuff!

In honor of the upcoming Ani-Pock anniversary, we will be having the First Annual Ani-Pock Awards night!

We will have your choices for Anime of the Year and Blog Post of the Year.
As well, we will have an award for the Pocker I believe has gone above and beyond this year (aside from Pocky of course), to help contribute to our community!
And we will announce the grand winner of the "Name That Character" game, so that their name can be lauded for the rest of the year! Hoo yeah! You get a lot of recognition and admiration when you win this game!*
Plus we will have a few surprises in store as well!!!

Ani-Pock Name That Character Game Day 3

Kip here again.
I have some more questions from our A-P Anniversary Guess the Character Game!

We hit a couple of snags just after starting our game, but we are prepared to resume now, with a double post!


These are some of Lord Zaku's questions, so be sure to send them to him.
Double round questions:

1) This character plays both a negative, and positive role. This character turns the tides later in the series by revealing their true intent, and some of their identity. Who is this character?

2) This character is one of the easier characters to like throughout the series. This character starts out welcoming, and seems to like the main character. The end makes off of this clear. Who is this character?

Round two:

1)Name the anime in which the character from question 2 is from.

2)This anime aired late on Ani-Pock, it was also interrupted by some of the episodes not working that were later not fixed due to the fallout. What anime is being spoken about.

Coming soon to the AP Gear Shop

Hi all, just want to give you a quick preview of what's coming to the gear shop. I'm currently working on a Wolfie Plushie. Wolfie as you know, is Ani-Pock's mascot. The video shows an early black and white paper prototype.

The final product would be in color, and would be stuffed with cotton inside. Still negotiating the price right now. These will be hand made.

Stan likes to draw, cycle, travel, and go out. He works on bikes so much that
he could practically build one! Stan has traveled all over England, and has been to
Scotland, Canary Islands, France (twice), Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Belgium, and Luxemburg. He could have his own travel channel on tv!

What he likes about himself:
Stan is a modest guy so he doesn't have much to say on this topic,
except for that he tries to be understanding. In his mind, being understanding
is important, but I would also say that he is genuinely nice and friendly. He is open-minded and
really fun to get to know. He's also a little shy, so you won't see him avidly reaching
for attention.

Ani-Pock Guess the Character Game Day 2

That's right folks, we're in day two of the spectacular guess the character game!

The game will continue for the following two weeks, leading up to the Ani-Pock Anniversary!



So, while Lord Zaku is doing:

1. Name the Gundam character (or robot, LOL!)
2. Name the classic Ani-Pock anime character

I will be doing:

1. Name the Macross/Robotech character (have to be a fan of one or the other!)
2. Name the mainstream-ish character (the equivalent of Dusclops in Pokemon, a character you know, but maybe not right off the bat)

Zaku should be doing some updates in the voice center periodically as the games progress!

Berkeley Innovation: What Pocky's been busy with

If you've ever wondered what Pocky has been busy with for the past three semesters (and thus away from Ani-Pock as much as he'd like), this video will sum it up.

I've been a member of Berkeley Innovation, our product design group on campus, for the past three semesters- and this semester I have taken over direction of the group.
