~HaPpY Halloween!~

I didn't really have enough time to put this post together, a week back I did some searching for some fun things to do, and I had Hai help me so these were some things we found interesting, and thought maybe you would enjoy too! First off, I have a great link to the history of the Holiday of Halloween, it derives from the Celtic Festival "Samhain" (pronounced Sow-in). (FUN FACT) Did you know that Halloween is the second holiday after Christmas for people spending the most money? It was somewhere around 6 billion.

Hallowe'en?

I know Hallowe'en has already passed in some places...
But I haven't seen any Blog Posts for it... so I thought I would make one even though I'm late for some people...

Now... I don't have much experience with All Hallow's Eve...
I've dressed up maybe 2 or 3 times, and I do most my candy gathering the day after Halloween when it's nice and cheap...

Still not sure what to wear?

I thought I'd enlist the aid of some "Plushie Pals" from San-X, in hopes they might inspire some costume ideas... You don't have do be something SCARY do you?


I'm personally more inclined to give candy to something "Cute" vs "Scary"... but... I dunno?

Sometimes the smallest changes have the biggest results...

Hey everybody, just making a post now that I have been added on to the blog. Don't expect too many of these types of posts, as I want to share the spotlight. This is just a personal recommendation and a little bit of information from me.

Like many in both mainstream and pro wrestling circles, I am tired of it. This documentary from ChallengingMedia shows how the mainstream is seeing pro wrestling, due to the way it's being marketed by Vincent Kennedy McMahon

Northern Michigan Anime Convention II

Well folks, we're getting underway again, or have been for a little while, for the Northern Michigan Anime Convention II, still Ani-Pock's official convention.

So, we're looking for input. Like last time, I'd like to get some feedback on some questions to help our convention grow, and maybe get the word out about A-P a little more after this year, and in turn get some more people through our doors at NMAC.

So:

• Have you been to an anime con?
• If you haven't attended before, what are your initial thoughts and reactions to cons? Should cons be more accommodating of first time attendees?
• What are some things you've wanted to see at a convention?
• What brings you to them?
• Is there some element of conventions you do not like?
• Favorite guest?
• ETC, ETC.

You can see how the con this year turned out here. But be sure to check back here often to see how the new convention, opening on July 18 & 19, 2009, is shaping up as we progress in our plans.

Disney News: Adventurer's Club closes at Disney World

Via: BoingBoing.net: "The Adventurer's Club at Walt Disney World -- a cabaret show/bar augmented with puppeteered robotic masks, stone idols, and random junque -- has shut its doors, as part of the shuttering of Pleasure Island (an otherwise lacklustre adult entertainment area with crummy discos and clubs). This was my second-favorite Disney artifact of all time (after the Haunted Mansion ride), and my favorite club in the world. I'm so bummed to hear they shut it down -- I hope it re-opens somewhere else soon!"
